Amandio da Silva is a highly experienced fitter and turner machinist with a strong background in precision fabrication, commercial machinery preventative maintenance, installation and commissioning, customisation, and repair. He is the founder of Mandinhos Engineering, an Australian-based business located in Sydney, the heart of New South Wales. He brings with him decades of practical expertise and holds a reputation for reliability and expert craftsmanship.
Originally from South Africa, Amandio began his career developing and building polymer reactors and their auxiliary componentry at Dystar Boehme Africa (formerly Boehme Africa), a chemicals manufacturer in Pietermaritzburg. After becoming an expert in the field, he launched his own business providing these services to Dystar and companies alike. Upon relocating to Australia, Amandio expanded his offering to support a broader range of industries, including manufacturing lines, raw goods processing, and mining operations.
Amandio is a firm believer in thorough maintenance, demonstrating that a proactive approach is the most effective form of cost prevention — minimizing downtime and safeguarding production continuity.
He works collaboratively with clients to deliver practical, high-impact solutions tailored to their operational needs. His services span from precision installations and emergency repairs to the implementation of structured preventative maintenance programs that enhance reliability and reduce long-term operating costs. Mechanical Engineer
Amandio da Silva (Jnr) is a multidisciplinary engineer with deep expertise in mechanical design, verification & validation (V&V), and intelligent automation — with a strong focus on regulated product development and testing. With a foundation built at ResMed (2019–2024), he has contributed to the full lifecycle of medical devices, working across mechanical, software, and electrical systems to deliver high-performance, compliant solutions.
Amandio’s engineering approach blends hands-on execution with strategic insight. He has designed and tested flow-optimized components using polymers, silicones, and textiles, applying tools like Creo, SolidWorks and Ansys to model, simulate, and validate performance. His prototyping work includes 3D printing, laser cutting and injection moulding — all aimed at achieving efficient, and manufacturable designs that meet design criteria and requirements.
In V&V, Amandio has developed automated test rigs and Python-based test suites, integrating sensors and control systems to streamline data acquisition and analysis. He has authored and adapted test protocols, supported ISO and TUV SUD compliance, and contributed to regulatory submissions for flagship products like the Airsense 11. His work spans protocol development, documentation, and audit preparation — with a strong emphasis on quality, traceability, and innovation.
Beyond traditional engineering, Amandio is a pioneer in AI tooling, developing intelligent agents and generative systems that enhance user research, automate content creation, and deliver actionable insights. He has built custom dashboards and data pipelines that visualize performance metrics and support decision-making across product teams.
Known for his collaborative mindset and mentoring capabilities, Amandio has worked across design, V&V, and product development teams — often bridging disciplines to solve complex problems. He’s a certified Scrum Master and an advocate for Agile workflows, bringing clarity, structure, and empathy to high-pressure environments.
